VARAC Travels to Gratten For Vintage CAN-AM Challenge

TORONTO, ON (August 13, 2013) – For an exciting change of venue this weekend, a number of Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC) competitors will be travelling to Grattan Raceway Park in Michigan to complete in the VSCDA Vintage Grand Prix au Grattan XXVII.

“VSCDA has always held a unique Grand Prix event every year that our members love to attend.” Says VARAC President and Race Director Del Bruce.  “This year VSCDA reached out to us in the form of a Can-Am Challenge, and we couldn’t help but jump at the chance to participate in what we hope will be a growing relationship of support across national vintage festivals.”  VARAC Member Gary Allan really enjoys the Grattan track – “Its just a great older style natural terrain track – perfect for my MG!”.

This year’s VSCDA Grand Prix au Grattan event is being held from August 16 to 18, 2013 at Grattan Raceway Park.  It will feature the Can-Am Festival Challenge, the Trans Am B-Sedan Race Series sponsored by BTRacing, the National Formula Junior Race, The Formula Vee Series sponsored by TEAM Industrial Services, Spridget Race Series and the Jeff Porasik-Wells Fargo Advisors Endurance Series honoring Wounded Warriors.

Information regarding this event can be found at here.

Provisional Schedule available at here.

This event is the fourth VARAC points race for the newly developed Festival Championship.  Results and Point Standings are posted here.

VARAC Splits Its Grid Between Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Waterford Hills This Weekend

TORONTO, ON (July 23, 2013) – Following their feature Canadian Historic Grand Prix event last month the Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC) competitors have decided to divert their attention to multiple tracks this weekend. VARAC’s Group 70+ grid will be competing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park as part of the BARC Canadian Touring Trophy Races (July 27, 28) and the Vintage/Historic grid will attend the Waterford Hills Vintage Races (July 26-28).

“Waterford Hills is such a favoured event on the North American vintage circuit” says Del Bruce, VARAC’s President and Race Director. “When it was announced that the schedule would collide with the CASC-OR’s regional schedule we made the decision to support both events, rather than choose one over the other. Both are important to our members and our commitment to BARC and CASC-OR. We think of it as double-the-fun for our club this weekend.”

This year’s Waterford event will feature the Trans Am B Sedan Challenge Race as well as the VSCDA Vintage Vee Series Points Race. Information regarding this event can be found at www.waterfordhills.com and on their Facebook page.

The Group 70+ cars are looking forward to an exciting re-match of the close competition and crowded grids that were experienced at the CHGP. Information regarding the BARC Canadian Touring Trophy event can be found at:

Provisional Schedule available here.

Complimentary Tickets available here.

Both of this weekend’s events are the fourth VARAC points races of the year. Results and Point Standings are posted here.
