VARAC Travels to Gratten For Vintage CAN-AM Challenge
TORONTO, ON (August 13, 2013) – For an exciting change of venue this weekend, a number of Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC) competitors will be travelling to Grattan Raceway Park in Michigan to complete in the VSCDA Vintage Grand Prix au Grattan XXVII.
“VSCDA has always held a unique Grand Prix event every year that our members love to attend.” Says VARAC President and Race Director Del Bruce. “This year VSCDA reached out to us in the form of a Can-Am Challenge, and we couldn’t help but jump at the chance to participate in what we hope will be a growing relationship of support across national vintage festivals.” VARAC Member Gary Allan really enjoys the Grattan track – “Its just a great older style natural terrain track – perfect for my MG!”.
This year’s VSCDA Grand Prix au Grattan event is being held from August 16 to 18, 2013 at Grattan Raceway Park. It will feature the Can-Am Festival Challenge, the Trans Am B-Sedan Race Series sponsored by BTRacing, the National Formula Junior Race, The Formula Vee Series sponsored by TEAM Industrial Services, Spridget Race Series and the Jeff Porasik-Wells Fargo Advisors Endurance Series honoring Wounded Warriors.

This event is the fourth VARAC points race for the newly developed Festival Championship. Results and Point Standings are posted here.
VARAC is the Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada whose members share a desire to preserve, restore and race historically significant cars in a form as close to the original specification as possible. We race cars made in 1989 or earlier in Ontario and Quebec. The highlight of our season is the Canadian Historic Grand Prix held annually in June at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The 2014 CHGP will feature the Triumph MG Challenge.
